Participants must be able to top rope belay to take this class. Participants must be able to climb at a 5.10 level or greater.
This class is designed to introduce the experienced climber to leading sport routes. Topics include how to clip quickdraws, rope management, proper and efficient lead belaying, lead climbing safety, and the art of catching and taking falls.
This class is taught over 2 sessions a minimum of 1 week apart. The first session is a 2-hour instructional workshop, and the second session is a 1-hour follow-up. The students will be given a lead climbing certification assessment by the staff at this time. Lead climbing certification is not guaranteed. A 50% deposit is required to book.
